Family Reunion depicts my neighbors and friends in the Bearwallow section of the Jewell Ridge mountaintop where my husband Don and I have lived for over thirty years. I took pictures on this day of family and friends gathering for a picnic, and painted the work in my studio later on, equipped with sketches I had made from Dellis Justice’s handmade Wedding Ring quilt. This painting continues to ignite a pleasant and vivid memory of that day in my mind even now. Family Reunion hangs in the Richlands branch of the Tazewell County Library, having been given to the library by an anonymous donor years ago.
