I have been very fortunate in having several opportunities for teaching in other countries come to be realized. Some experiences were long-term, affording a fuller understanding of different cultures and perspectives that I feel nourishes the educator’s teaching abilities and broadens the scope of curriculum content. Southwest Virginia Community College and the Virginia Community College System have been supportive of my endeavors overseas, and for that, I am grateful.
My travels and teaching experiences in, most recently, Ivanovo State Power University in Ivanovo, Russia; Common Ground Scotland in Ayreshire, Scotland; Lipitsk State Teaching University in Lipitsk, Russia; and Aberdeen College in Aberdeen, Scotland have provided profound enrichment, both professionally and personally.
