As a teacher of art, I have the opportunity to apply the function that I believe art serves in society and the world at large. Art is a language that allows us to share and communicate the essence of being human. Through my teaching and creating of art I am blessed to participate in such vital human dialogue.
As a professional artist, I believe that the visual artist has more opportunity for financial success and personal fulfillment than ever before. The increasing globalization of our world citizenry, especially electronically, has brought back visual imagery as a common language, and quality design as the competitive edge. The arts are more and more serving the needs of communities for bringing tourism and financial growth to the business sector. But most importantly, in our often fast-paced and stressed-out daily lives, art is still the vehicle for finding an inner respite, whether through the vision of another artist, or through the open-ended journey that personal creativity always allows.
